Question 1

How do I make a PNG semi-transparent?

Accepted Answer

Set the opacity and download as PNG. The alpha is baked into the file, so it stays transparent wherever you place it.

Question 2

Why did my transparent image turn white?

Accepted Answer

It was saved as JPG. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparency is flattened onto a solid colour. Use PNG or WebP.
